Health and Safety is fundamental to how we create value and take responsibility across Telenor. We are looking for a Director, Group Health & Safety to lead and further develop our Group-wide Health & Safety agenda.

In this role, you will help strengthen governance, risk management, incident learning and reporting across Telenor. Working closely with colleagues across our Business Units and Group functions, you will contribute to a consistent and practical approach to Health & Safety while supporting continuous improvement and a strong safety culture across the Group.

About the role

As Director, Group Health & Safety, you will play a key role in ensuring that Telenor's Health & Safety practices remain effective, relevant and prepared for an evolving risk landscape.

You will lead the development of our Group-wide Health & Safety framework and support its implementation across Business Units and markets. The role involves maintaining an overview of key risks and performance trends, strengthening organisational learning from incidents and ensuring clear reporting to Group Management and the Telenor ASA Board.

This is a global role with significant influence across Telenor. Working closely with Health & Safety teams, Business Units and Group functions, you will help create alignment, strengthen governance and support continuous improvement across our Health & Safety agenda.

The role is part of People Governance within People & Organisation and contributes to ensuring that Telenor's Health & Safety practices remain effective, relevant and future-ready.

Key responsibilities

You will:

Lead and continuously develop Telenor's Group-wide Health & Safety strategy, governance framework, policies and standards.
Ensure consistent implementation of Health & Safety requirements across Business Units and markets.
Maintain oversight of critical Health & Safety risks, performance and mitigation activities, enabling informed decision-making across the Group.
Lead Group-wide incident management, and support reporting, corrective actions and organisational learning related to serious incidents.
Deliver clear and timely Health & Safety and ESG reporting, insights and recommendations to Group Management and the Telenor ASA Board.
Provide expert guidance and support on Health & Safety, risk management and regulatory compliance to Business Units and Group functions.
Drive continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture through capability building, assurance activities, performance insights and the adoption of data-driven and technology-enabled practices, including AI where relevant.

We believe you bring

You bring a strong combination of Health & Safety expertise, business understanding and the ability to create impact across a complex organisation.

You likely have:

Relevant higher education and substantial experience within Health & Safety, governance or risk management.

Strong knowledge of Health & Safety frameworks, regulations and recognised practices.

Experience leading or influencing Health & Safety improvements in a complex, international environment.

Experience with risk management, incident handling, investigations and organisational learning.

Experience engaging with senior leaders and translating complex requirements into clear and actionable recommendations.

The ability to build trusted relationships and create alignment across functions, markets and cultures.

Excellent written and spoken English.

Experience with data and performance management, digital Health & Safety systems, or the use of AI and new technologies to improve processes is an advantage.
