We are looking for an experienced Application Packaging Specialist to strengthen application delivery across Telenor’s Nordic environment. Your primary focus will be packaging, deploying and managing enterprise applications through Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), with Microsoft Intune as a secondary area. You will help ensure that applications are tested, secured, documented and delivered efficiently to end users.

Introduction

Telenor Shared Services (TSS) is developing its enterprise application delivery services, and this role will contribute through reliable software packaging, deployment and lifecycle management. Working in Enterprise IT and the End User Computing team, you will collaborate with security, infrastructure, service management, vendors, application owners and business stakeholders. The position offers the opportunity to improve packaging standards, automation and operational processes in an established enterprise environment.

The position and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for packaging, testing, deploying and maintaining enterprise applications. SCCM/MECM is the primary platform, while Intune application packaging and deployment forms an important secondary part of the position.

SCCM / MECM application packaging - primary focus

• Package, test, deploy and maintain enterprise applications using SCCM/MECM.

• Create and maintain MSI, EXE, PowerShell and script-based application deployments.

• Manage application upgrades, supersedence, dependencies, detection methods and requirement rules.

• Support version management and the retirement of applications throughout the software lifecycle.

• Troubleshoot deployment failures and perform remediation activities.

• Create and maintain SCCM collections and deployment schedules.

• Participate in operating system deployment and task-sequence packaging activities when required.

Microsoft Intune application packaging - secondary focus

• Package and deploy Win32 applications using Microsoft Intune.

• Create and maintain IntuneWin packages and deployment configurations.

• Configure detection rules, requirement rules, return codes, assignment groups and user-experience settings.

• Support Company Portal application delivery and self-service offerings.

• Assist with transitioning applicable workloads from SCCM to Intune.

• Support Windows and, where relevant, macOS application deployment processes.

Application governance, security and quality

• Ensure that packaging standards comply with Telenor security and governance requirements.

• Work with Security and Architecture teams to review and approve new software requests.

• Support application whitelisting and application-control processes.

• Verify software licensing requirements and maintain application documentation.

• Validate installations, upgrades and uninstall routines in development and production-like environments.

• Work with requestors and business representatives during user acceptance testing.

• Maintain documentation for installation procedures, deployment configurations and operational handover.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has

• At least three years of experience in enterprise application packaging and software deployment.

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SCCM/MECM, Windows application packaging, PowerShell scripting, and MSI and EXE installers.

• Experience with Microsoft Intune application deployment and Win32 packaging.

• An understanding of Windows operating systems and endpoint management.

• Experience troubleshooting application deployment issues.

• Familiarity with software licensing and application lifecycle management.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

It is beneficial if you have

• Experience with Microsoft Intune administration.

• Experience with PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT).

• Experience with Patch My PC or a similar application update solution.

• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID group-based deployments.

• Knowledge of application-control solutions such as Ivanti Privilege Manager, WDAC or equivalent.

• Experience supporting macOS application packaging.
